The Old Grill
Memorial Day in our family traditionally is a day of getting the back yard at my dads house ready for the summer. None of us live there anymore, we all have our own homes. It has a in ground pool so its the place we all hang out in the summer, so we all pitch in to help get it summer ready. Things like taking the pool cover off, draining and cleaning the pool, getting the patio furniture out from the shed are among the few tasks that need to be done. Now to the grill.
We were all to meet there at 9:30am. We wanted to get an early start due to the temperature going up to 92 today. Now my dad is one who really gets his money out of stuff. He's a very simple man, its one of the many things I love about him.
His grill was ten years old and may I add used alot, as you can see. Many a beef roasts, ribs, hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken had been grilled on that grill. Many a parties that grill has seen. I thought it was going to be a part of the family forever, cause it was still working even thou it has been on its last legs for the past few years. Well to my surprise as I was aproaching the back yard here comes my dad rolling it out to the curb for trash. I had taken so many pictures today being it was such a family fun filled day, but I was so blown away by the old grill experience that there was no way anything else could take the place of the old grill blip. I think it was a respect thing for my dad as well as the grill.
...RIP Old Grill...you had a good life and you served us well.
