Jellyfish
<back blip>
Day two diving in Loch Torridon. Wet and windy.
This picture is from the first dive, which was on the north west side of Ardhelsaig. sailfish and I spent quite a bit of time photographing this lions mane jellyfish, with it?s retinue of tiny fish. They shelter from predators amongst the stinging tentacles, so presumably they are a species that has developed immunity to the stings (although perhaps they just play a constant game of dodge-tentacle!).
We did a lovely drift through the narrows to Upper Loch Torridon this afternoon, but as surface conditions were difficult and we were expecting a strong current in the water, we left our cameras behind.
(check this out big)
