Waterfall
The 'road' of steps I climb twice a day on my way home, pictured here, is called ' Kataraktis', meaning waterfall in Greek. I had always vauguely thought that it got it's name because of the way the steps, kind of, fall down to the harbour. Today, however, after heavy rain this morning which continued as I was going home, I finally witnessed the real reason. Back in the days when Symi still had rivers, this area must have looked like this all the time. OK, so it's not a big, beautiful or dramatic fall but considering that at least 90% of the time it doesn't exist at all, I was plased to have ventured slightly off the beaten track to get some snaps.
