A Walk Through Deb's Life

Azalea

I've never been very good at growing azaleas. They tend to be picky with the type of soil they flourish in. Acid soil is best. My Taxman loves flowers (shhh, don't tell. It might not seem manly) and he bought this short stubby azalea when we first moved in four years ago. I planted it but didn't give it much hope really. For some unknown reason it is mightily blooming this year -- more than ever before. It might be due to the acidic oak leaves that fall heavily and decompose in this bed (mainly because we leave things as natural as possibly and aren't leaf-raking fanatics).

It's been an exhausting weekend filled with anniversary dinner at a Greek restaurant, neighborhood party, birthday part for son-in-law at downtown German restaurant and our daughter running her first ten mile race on Saturday. Today I couldn't drag my weary body from the bed until 8:30! You would have thought it was me who ran ten miles. Lucky for me my beloved Taxman was home to do my chicken chores and make breakfast for Dad. Then I mowed the lawn and had to go back and lay down again! I sure hope I get my second wind because I have a boat-load of business and manufacturing to do before next weekend's farmers market schedule begins. Someone wish me luck, please.
