Visit to Minehead
This is a backblip to try and fill in some of those missed days!
My Oregan cousins and I met another cousin at Bishops Lydeard station and travelled by steam train on the West Somerset Railway up to Minehead which is on the North Somerset coast, some 20 miles away. The journey takes one through pleasant undulating countryside stopping at flower bedecked halts on the way up to Watchet and the coast to Minehead.
We walked right along the Strand towards North Hill and the harbour before enjoying a pub lunch sitting outside in their beer garden then a brisk walk back to the station.
In the picture are the old remaining houses in Quay Street with the trees of North Hill behind them. Further down a few of the cottages are still thatched. On the left is the edge of Exmoor. A very enjoyable trip.
