"Get On Yer Bike!"

We were famously told once upon a time.
Having finished painting gates for the day, I was seeking another small project to fill a half hour. Ali's bike has been hanging about for a while so I thought to check it out. Everything was tight and the brakes were just fine but the tyres were quite soft. After some serious pumping (stop sniggering at the back!), the tyres were back to standard so, just one thing to do - test run. Not having been on a bike for - er, "some time", things were a bit wobbly to start with but, it was just like riding a bike - you never forget!
The observant will note that I am on grass (softer landing) and Rona is watching from the safety of the house!
Following the departure of our blue tit family, I took down the two bird boxes to clean them out. One, which had not been home to a wee brood this year was a puzzle until opened and I found a wasp nest within. The other, sadly, contained four dead chicks. What the story here is I have no idea. Both parents were attentive so were there insufficient grubs to feed the whole brood or something - any ideas welcome.
I hope you have all enjoyed the bank Holiday.
