in response to a comment yesterday:

'don't you guys think all this blur effect is a bit too much and overrated now!? Pardon my frankness!'

I cannot speak for 'you guys' but for myself.

Photography for me is very personal, it is a means to reflect what I am attracted to and how I perceive at a given time. Out of focus or blur is what catches my eye and for what ever reason resonates, that is on the visual level. On an emotional or feeling level what was once perceived as clear, focused if you will, no longer does. What was black and white is becoming gray. So on these two levels out of focus or blur represents to me an unknown and exciting area to explore.

thanks for the question,

L
