The Organic Herb Man

Went to Friday Street boot sale this morning so the teen could look for some new-old vinyl. I love this particular boot sale for it's regular and interesting cast of characters. There is the very handsome mushroom guy who loves to talk camera, the eccentric watch man who always has a little gift for my daughter and the gold toothed antique dealer who finally agreed to a portrait today. I have photographed this country gent on two other occasions but not with great success. It is an extremely bright and unsheltered venue and even using the f16 rule the images are often too bright and and shadowy. I was very pleased to find him in a more sheltered position today. He is an extremely shy but always willing model, with the poshest Suffolk accent. He grows fresh organic herbs and was doing very well at his stand today. There is a little something 1970s David Glimour about his face. A certain almost feminine beauty. I love how his eyes dance when he smiles.
