"Seven Treasures"

Amongst the outer rings of suburban Shanghai is an old fashioned Chinese township called Qi Bao (Seven Treasures). Now engulfed by cityscape, QiBao gives Shanghai a reminder of the way life used to be with its packed narrow shopping streets, offshoot alleyways and airy eatery's on the canal. Kitsch in many aspects, (like it's humble pagoda and wobbly red lanterns), Qi Bao is a nice place to imagine the path to what China has come to be today.
