Californ I Am

At the bus stop in front of my house (I live in a quaint, small Dutch village called Maarssen) , I met a nice American couple from California: Steve and Lynette.

They were making a lil' trip through Europe and it was the first time Steve had left the U.S. He wanted to see more of the world, while he still could. Something more Americans should do, in my honest but humble opinion.
Lynette was here on a more personal matter. Her mom came from this village originally and had passed away a few months ago. They were here to scatter her ashes in the river that runs through the village.

They were on their way to Amsterdam and so was I. So I tagged along and we kept talking about all kinds of stuff during the trip. They were so sweet, cool, funny and open, it was great spending time talking to them. If I'm ever in California, I'll be sure to look them up.
