Between the bird cherries and the lilacs

I'm having this urge right now to ask the nature please stop the summer progressing so fast, I can't keep up. Just for a couple of weeks or so... It's so sneaky. It's cold and wet outside and it doesn't feel like summer at all and then you realize the lilacs are in bloom and when on earth did that happen.

There's this saying "summer is the time between the bird cherries and the lilacs" telling how short is the time when the nature gets in bloom. There's only a week or two between the bird cherries starting their bloom and the lilacs starting theirs.

Another busy week ahead, last week of school for the kids, then they are off for the summer vacation.
