Land of Hope and Glory
The day began grey, cold and threatening, not a promising start. However, after a couple of heavy showers it has improved considerably. We decided to visit the village of Thirkleby, not far away, as it is having a flower festival this weekend. The church is very old and very beautiful with a rafted ceiling. All the exhibits were excellent so difficult to choose just one. This was the first display by the entrance in a small area around the font. It looked lovely with other arrangements in red, white and blue nearby. Even the bell pulls happened to be in the right colours! Being something of a patriot I opted for this one as my shot of the day. And now the sun is shining and I am full of optimism for tomorrow's weather.
