Newport Transporter Bridge

It must have seemed revolutionary at the time!

I was thinking, 'Why not just build a normal bridge' but there is a reason why not which can be found here.

A fruitless journey from Bristol to Cardiff today to pick up a bike. I saw the bike and even touched the bike but because some Cyclescheme paperwork had gone missing I couldn't take the bike.

This is after arranging to collect the bike this morning following a phone call from the bike shop last week telling me the bike was ready.

What can you say? There wasn't much point being angry as I can't see that it ever really achieves the desired result but frustrated? Yes, frustrated is acceptable.

Only a bike though so we went to the White Water Centre in Cardiff Bay which is brilliant. Son #1, along for the ride, had a big hot chocolate.

A blip friendly place but maybe not the one!.

And then a stroll along the pier at Penarth - a pier snap for surebut not the equal of the one produced by my colleague Trials and Tribulations which was so popular last week. So it remains hidden away!
