Caravan Season

The caravans have started.
All the roads are choked and slow.
They're not too sure how wide they are,
There's lots of stop and go.

It's half-term and bank holiday,
The usual British type:
We're sitting in exhaust fumes
While the windscreen-wipers wipe.

The drivers have their SatNavs
That see roads, but never rivers,
So brakes screech into action
Giving local folk the shivers:

Strangers put their foot down;
They're Nearly There, and merry,
Till they almost hit the cars in front,
Queuing for the ferry.

They're not too certain where they are.
There's lots of stop and go
Since the caravans have started
And the roads are choked and slow.

(Taken on our way back from a barbecue in Exeter. Brrr, it was cold. And wet. And windy. I do feel sorry for holiday-makers. At least we were on our way back to home comforts and a cup of tea.)

BTW, the tax disc holder in the windscreen is NOT product placement, as I am not insured with them any more! :-)
