Space: and wombling

I have cleared The Shed. Well, cleared as in tidied up. This means that when I get my bike in and out I no longer risk things falling on me, or on my bike. It was actually amazing how little time it took and how little total, absolute crap there was in there.

I was particularly delighted, though, to find my fire clubs and juggling knives and can't wait to have a play with them again!

One of my chums has recently started a business called 'Wombling' which is a fantastic way of getting rid of your unwanted stuff particularly if, like our household, you don't have transport or have this sneaky feeling that your crap may be useful to someone else but can't be bothered to get rid of it yourself. Based in Norwich, Karen will collect your stuff free of charge if you are in Norwich. Her business is a social enterprise, her customer care is fantastic and a few weeks ago she took away our clapped out computer monitor and dead printer with good grace and efficiency.

I've just logged on to her site to say that we would like to 'donate' (I love the way that she phrases things):

1 roll of slightly cobwebby polythene
1 wheelbarrow covered in old paint

I need to have a word with himself about a few other bits and pieces of 'stuff'.

And I'm going to have a go at making a new sling for a rather nice old deckchair that I unearthed.

Blimey, I feel virtuous ....
