Ennis Thabong School
I was privileged to visit the Ennis Thabang School, just outside of town, with some staff and students from The Mountain Cambridge School, today! The MCS declared today a day to wear 'civvies' iso uniform, but the 'entrance fee' was a blanket! A pupil could only wear ordinary clothes to school if he/she brought a blanket to be donated to these underprivileged kids at Ennis Thabong School!
We were received with pride and joy, the headmistress, MsLydia Masolo, welcomed us and gave us a guided tour through the whole school! We spent some time, saw how the kids were served a meal for the day, which is cooked in their kitchen, on the premises, and thereafter we were allowed to hand blankets over to each learner in Grade 3, the teachers will hand out the rest of it after we left, since we could not keep our students out of school for too long!
In this picture you can see their Headmistress in the middle of the picture and the class teacher, Ms mittah Sewela, in the red coat, on the left hand side of the picture.
Our kids donated about 215 blankets, which was enough to give one each to all the primary school learners, they have a pre-school section as well, and we will hand them blankets at some other stage.
Update on Cecile and Johan:
There was good news, very early this morning, Hannelie phoned to say the night shift staff reported that Cecile opened her eyes, but unfortunately, it was never repeated during the day, but we are hopeful that she will regain consciousness soon!! Please pray!! She is in her 12th day of the coma now!
Johan is, however, still a very sick baby! It seems more probable that he has whooping cough now! He is still in ICU, and was taken off the ventilator and is on the oscillator now! He is certainly still on the critical list at this stage! Please pray for him as well!!
Lots of love from a verrrrrry cold South Africa! Wishing you all a great weekend!
