Lost communities

This location is approx 3 miles past the back end of nowhere in the Scottish Borders.

Driving around I often come across evidence of past communities that have simply moved on, leaving a few tumbledown ruins and more often than not a church.

With the cost of rural living in the UK scandalously high due to the criminally high price of heating oil, petrol, and the lack of decent high speed broadband, I wonder how many of the hamlets we live in today will look like this tomorrow?
