Thorns and Thistles

"Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field"

I was a bit taken today with this purple flower on the thistle I've blipped before.

The quote's a bit heavy going; all I looked for was a quote about thistles, and in my google results I saw mention of "thorns and thistles", which I thought sounded kind of cool. Reading this and surrounding verses though ... wow.

Anyhoo ... it's too late (or I'm too tired, at any rate) for me to put coherent thoughts together about it, so I'll leave it as its own commentary.
