1770 BEACH

Back on the road again today with our campervan repaired and running well.
We have travelled down the coast from Gladstone and tonight are camped right on this lovely beach at the village of 1770. We` have just returned from a glorious sun set cruise out in the bay . A fitting end to a fantastic day of sun,blue blue sky and temperatures in the mid 20's C
1770 is a village built on the site of the second landing by James Cook and the crew of HM Barque Endeavour in May 1770 hence the town's name. This was Cook's first landing in what is now the state of Queensland. 1770 is 120 kilometres north of Bundaberg. The town sustains a small permanent population; a significant holiday population visits the area to take advantage of fishing and other water activities.
