Winding Staircase

I had to tell you what this was otherwise you would never have guessed. This was taken in the beautiful church of Saint Symphorien in Nuits Saint Georges. There were lots of other images from there to blip but while the choir was rehearsing I hid inside this most unusual staircase. It is just about wide enough to hold me, has wooden steps and is encased in oak panelling. The carving on the outside is really beautiful and inside you can get away from everything and enjoy the light which paints figures and patterns. I did use a bit of hdr to bring out the wood.

Great concert tonight. When I went to my meeting this morning the first thing they said was that they did not think many people would turn up as there had been another concert on Monday and there would be another one on Saturday. However it was full, not many spare seats and the audience was very appreciative. This choir deserved it too, they were fantastic. Off to Tours tomorrow, early start again.
