Circle of the Seasons

Bridal Wreath

This is a bush called spirea, a very low maintenance shrub that blooms like crazy in the late spring. It was traditionally used to make coronets for brides, being in bloom at the time of year for love and marriage and being extremely easy to weave into a circle.

My mother used to have it planted all around our house in the dogwood forest where I grew up. It reminds me of her.

It's getting hot and humid here, just in time for Memorial Day.

As they said on the news this morning, it's air conditioner weather!
