Heath spotted orchid

Today I was asked if I could take photographs of wildflowersfor a calendar to support a local charity. So now I have to make decisions about style (documentary or impressionistic), orientation etc even before I think about the flowers themselves. The only restirctions are that the photos must be taken on the reserve and .... it must be ready by September (hope the marsh gentians come out early this year!).

On my dog walk this morning I noticed that lots of heath spotted orchids had emerged on one of the fire breaks so I shot back there between the showers after work this evening to take a few images. It was rather windy so an 'impressionistic' style seemed best, at least for today.
