Shopping for wine at the Domaine des Pascales in the village this morning, buying their excellent rosé which goes well chilled with most things all through the summer, a bag-in-box to keep in our fridge and a bottle to take to friends where we're going to supper tonight.

This imposing entrance was probably built in the nineteenth century, a good time for wine makers in this area as phylloxera killed the vines further north, leaving the Midi producing wine for decades longer before being affected. The main domain has now moved just outside the village, leaving just the caveau for wine sales here. They also sell very good cheeses and lamb from the Aveyron, so it's a good place to go shopping.
