Thursday: Night and Day

I have just survived the first of seven nightshifts, so here is a blip from work.  This is a piece of equipment that we have in the office that tells us.............erm.......where it is light and dark in the world.  Yes, that's what it does.  I can honestly say that it is neither use nor ornament and beyond looking a bit pretty and blue, it has never been of any use.  

I find looking out the window quite a good way of measuring whether it is dark or light.  And as for the rest of the world, I can kind of work that out - particularly as we have clocks with all the various timezones dotted around the place.  

Still, it is quite nice to see the UK moving into light as the shift progresses.
