Te Papa and Public Art
When our conference ended for the day Kiwilizzie and I went for a walk along the Wellington waterfront. I love all the public art that is to be found in the city, and this is new since last time I was here. There's a row of them across a part of the courtyard outside Te Papa and although I really don't know what they represent (if anything), they looked great.
In this shot I have managed to get the Te Papa "thumbprint" to the left (which I think is meant to symbolise each and every one of us kiwis) and the entrance to the Museum to the right. Although we didn't have the time to go through the gallery today, it is one of the aspects of our capital city that I love. Te Papa alone makes any trip to Wellington worthwhile.
When my precious grandson was born almost 3 months early in Wellington neo-natal, I took his Mum there for an afternoon out, and I think the wonders there managed to take her mind off her struggling boy for whole minutes at a time. Now that he's an energetic 18 month old I guess he's not too far off being ready for his first visit.
