Flowers and berry-stained lips

Dear Heart,
I don't think I have ever been so unprepared for an exam. It makes sense under the circumstances; that part I get. What I don't understand is how all of this happened, or even when it happened. I feel like the last 6 months have been a complete blur. I can't begin to figure out what the next step is, what I'm supposed to do.
Until I do, I pin back my hair, rub on a little lipstick and wear a heart on a chain to keep me safe.
