Gone but Not Forgotten
Today was indeed a better day than yesterday or, indeed, the day before.
In celebration I took a slight detour on the way home from work and noticed that this ruin, that I've passed many times before, seemed a bit more prominent than usual. So I drove up to take a bit of a look and explore...a sort of advanced scouting party prior to returning to take some proper photos at a latter date when I have more time.
As I walked around the building I became more intruiged by what the actual building was as it has a small ruined port and other structures around it. SO when I got home I consulted that oracle of modern times....the internet. Much to my surprise, and delight, I found that this building was the largest distillery in Scotland in the early 1700s...and that there is a delightful website all about its history. It's the Kennetpans Distillery and the website is truly fascinating....I'm going to have to spend a bit of time reading it further and also add this place to my 'Blipbank' for sure.
