Blippers
I had to go down to Gateshead and since the train was half an hour late it was very nice to bump into Becks and Davide and wee Louis on the platform and have a blether while waiting. There was a long saga from the guard about the train having been left in the wrong place due to yesterdays storms, the train doors refusing to shut in Motherwell, a long wait for a free platform in Princes St Gardens (only a couple of hundred yards outside the station). And then the signal man let the 8.30 London train go out ahead of us (ours was the 8.00) - the guard sounded black affronted.
I made it into the office only just in time to deliver a presentation about courses and qualifications in the maths department. There are so many changes in the offing I think I left the poor souls more confused than when I started.
I got home with just enough time to eat a delicious meal that DaveH had prepared before we dashed out to get to a mini blipmeet at the pond in Figgate Park. Here are Sands, Anth, Trev and DaveH gazing at the wildlife (who gazed back). We spotted another chap with a serious looking camera and muttered "Blipper?" to each other; but he passed on by. Of course, he might have been a blipper who just didn't like the look of us... It was a bit draughty at the pond so after a while we repaired to the Sheep Heid pub and had some delicious beer and good blether.
Thanks to Anth for suggesting it and to Sands for the lift home!
