Wisteria Power

This vine is at least a hundred years old, and we've cut it back to the base twenty or more times. It just keeps growing back...and growing, and growing!

By the end of summer it will have wound up all the posts on the south side of the front porch, and spread horizontally all the way to the northern end. It even sends runners underneath the porch. They push their way out between the front steps and appear through the lattice. I chop them back, to no avail.

Bruce always wants to dig it up and do away with it, but I won't let him.

I love the purple flowers, and there's something awesome about its will to live.
