Lentejas
View in a Mallorquin kitchen again! How it is that today being a most beautiful one, I ended up with this shot I do not know. However,
I managed to improve my backhand avoiding straining my shoulder further. Xavi has a knack for describing something several times over in slightly different ways until some key word or demonstration hits the mark. This isn't like learning in a classroom. There has to be a verbal trigger to convert a learned and well thought out action into an automatic response. Like all sports I guess, modern tennis with modern raquets is all about preparation of the body and, although it sounds obvious, getting your raquet in the right position at the right time. Of course it's not easy and has to be broken down into tiny steps. Now I understand why he shouts "open, open, open" to me everytime I hit the ball unless I'm already doing the right thing. And today the simple thought of having my arm straight at the appropriate time made a huge difference.
Bored?
Well you should try it sometime. It probably looks and sounds boring, but it's just as satisfying as lentils with a bit of morcilla (black pudding), mushrooms, celery, tomato and stock really is. Particularly when the packet had been hiding at the back of the kitchen, unloved and neglected. Roxy encouraged me to turf stuff out, fix a stupid drawer thing, throw things away, rejig it all and clean the blasted place.
I do need my help don't I!
