Esperanza Spalding

I was hired to photograph the East Lansing Jazz Festival, but the headliner for the evening had restrictions with regard to photographs. Stage access was limited and I was limited to shooting during only the first three or so songs.

I hate microphones, and it seemed Spalding rarely moved away from it. Once I was done shooting, I headed home and beat a storm by a few minutes.
