Fred
After the glorious 5th birthday of my youngest daughter last weekend, today was the turn for my oldest one to turn 8. And it's a birthday that always makes me think of that day all those years ago when I was there with emotions and everything all over the place, having No Idea Whatsoever what it was going to be like to be a parent.
Anyway, away to Dumfrieshire for the weekend for a little caravan break. I swear my girls love staying in caravans so much that if we were to turn round one day and tell them we'd sold the flat but would stick a 32' static on the park to live in, they'd be more than happy.
Have been reading for once, thanks to a recent library trip have been dipping into this intriguing tome. And, although I have actually heard of plenty of it before it turns out there's plenty of good anecdotes and stories in there to keep me interested. For instance, I never knew that Fred Neil wrote not only Everybody's Talking (well-known version in the movie Midnight Cowboy) but also this aquatic classic made famous by Tim Buckley.
Note: I love Tim, but cannot stand Jeff in the slightest. Pet hate - don't get me started...
