Today has not been a good day

And it's not over yet :-/

Went into the boys' room to wake them up this morning (unusual in itself - Son Two is usually hammering on the door to be let out by 6.30!) and noticed an odd smell. I shall spare you the details, but it wasn't pretty.

One son bathed, quickly followed by one pillow, one mattress topper and one duvet :-/

Washing line snapped. Wet duvet dropped into the sandpit.

Duvet then duly hung over the swing until it blew off (BBC reporting 39mph gusts here...).

Mattress topper still hanging in there, weighted down with bricks.

Oh and the airer (with about half a load of nappies, the pillowcase/sheet/duvet cover on), had blown the entire length of the patio and round the side of the house, so has been brought in. Lucky I'd (a) pegged everything on, and (b) happened to look out of the window at that point, otherwise it'd be over the hills and far away by now.

And then I had a phone call from Potential Employer because there was a problem with my reference. All sorted now, but not done my stress levels any favours!

These guys were in the firing line btw. And they're hanging in the holly tree due to aforementioned washing line disaster.

Boy is fine btw. Miffed that he can't go to his chum's house to play after school, but no sign of any more vom thankfully. So far...
