a linnet?
If not I am sure someone will put me right. We had a lovely picnic on Stanpit marsh today and watched a variety of birds. The marsh is drier than I have seen it in ages and we could walk all around Priory marsh which is usually too wet despite very good wood bridges. We saw this bird on the way round - not that we had a clue what it was but its song was lovely and I think from our book it is a linnet.
Sadly we spotted one of the foals born on the marsh looking unwell and were relieved to see it being rescued ...lets hope it recovers..no doubt it will be reported on at the marsh sightings board
I am finally up to date with back blips having been very busy recently. I apologise for not having commented much recently but hope to get back to blipland more regularly now.
