Years ago, there was a wing of a motel blocking my view of sunrises. Several fires prompted the wing to be torn down and about a third of the motel has been rehabilitated and functions today. There have been plans to build a four-story apartment building on the since-cleared property, but I believe the neighbourhood association (along with my property management company that owns my apartment complex) has so far successfully pushed back against the plans.

While the view from here isn't all that great, it has its moments. Surely, it's much, much better than when the motel was in the way. Now, at least, I get a lovely morning light, uninhibited by concrete and metal.
