how memories are made...

We have this 'tradition' when we go to visit Grandma of allowing the smallest child to climb on to the driver's lap and 'drive' the car down her private lane and up to her house - and back again.

This single track driveway is about a mile long and winds its way through fields strewn with sheep (and lambs at the moment), over an ancient stone bridge and through gates. With Blencathra, (also known as Saddleback) as the backdrop it really is a magnificent place to learn to 'drive'!

Today our friends joined us and her enthusiasm at being able to sit on Daddy's lap while driving was so sweet.

The lovely sort of childhood memories one hopes for your children...
