Get ready to leave!

This is no ordinary Okavango sunset, there is a bush fire which has been slowly moving across during our stay at Xugana Island Lodge.
We were asked to pack our bags, just in case the fire hopped over the channel to our island.
The staff worked all night to do what they could to keep the fire away from the island and in the morning we woke to find bits of ash all over the room (open mesh windows), but felt very lucky not to have to evacuate such a beautiful lodge!
