The Tarn

We have travelled about 15 minutes west of the Boyle to a place where the St James Walkway starts, and there is a tarn at the beginning of it. There is bog land all around it, and it is dark, with red tussocks surrounding its rim. When there is no breeze you can get good reflections in the water. The trees on the far side are Beech trees, and they have white fluffy 'beards' hanging from the branches, it is probably a lichen - but it just looks like 'fairy land'. We had fun taking photographs here, and then went to one more place to take some more fungi, before setting on our journey home, back to the city life.
