Flying The Flag

Britain seems to be flag crazy at the moment. Its the royal wedding tomorrow and there's bunting and flags all over the place. In fairness though, this flag has been in place for years.

Its great, but, this particular flag irks me.

For 1, its flying all the time. You aren't supposed to fly flags out of daylight hours. And 2, its upside down!!!

This guy is clearly very patriotic and has gone to the considerable length of erecting a flagpole in his front garden (not back, hes proud and he wants the World to see it) and of purchasing a proper, full size flag (not an everyday item), and then doesn't even know or care which way up it goes. Duhhhh!

Likewise, the village pub is festooned with union flag bunting, all of which is upside down. Not, in this case, the landlord's fault. He knows it, but having bought it mail order last minute it was too late. Now you'd think if your business was selling flags, and you were shifting no doubt many many thosands of them, you could at least figure out which way up they go. I mean, there's only 1 thing to get right when making a wee plastic flag - and they screwed it up. Double-super- durrr!
