Test Bed One

Following an invite from my new flatmate, H, tonight I went to an art installation event in an old milk factory near my new flat, in Battersea. Testbed 1 is a creative space co-run by the London architect Will Alsop. Tonight there was a series of interactive light installations by ex-students from the Barlett School of Architecture, the Royal College of Art and the Glasgow School of Art.

There was a shadow puppet show; a room filled with gravel and lights where the sounds you made on the the gravel (crunching, stamping feet) were amplified and effected the pattern of the flash and play of light\; a tiny cupboard of a room with beakers of light; a mirror with a delayed response; and parasols hanging in falling light.

This image is taken from the back of the shadow puppet installation, after the play. A curious punter examines one of the puppets, in the light of the 'background' images still playing over the white sheets dividing audience from back-stage.

Earlier this year i volunteered in Madagascar with Azafady, I am slowly back-blipping my photos from the three months I was there. If you're interested please take a look at my photos from January. This one is a silhouette of the trees in the moonlight, at our camp in Mahatalaky. Misaotra betsaka. Thanks.
