Woodpecker

There's a tree in our road with a hole in its trunk where a woodpecker usually nests and there's a chick there at the moment. When you walk past there's a continuous cheep cheep cheep from the hole, and sometimes you can see a little head poking out.

Walking past this morning I spotted the parent silhouetted on a nearby tree. I think it may have been quite tired by feeding duties, as it seemed to be just resting on the trunk. So I had plenty of time to get a photo. A classic woodpecker outline :-)
