Diligent Mother

In our hedge, we have a black bird nest. There are three chicks in the nest, almost fledged and here is mum. She is in and out of there with tasty wee grubs all day long.

She has a hard job as there are a lot of cats about - mine included! Hope they make it. I shall do my best to keep the beasts at bay.

Caught her today giving the dad hell because all he wanted to do was sing his evening song - she was having none of it and I think a rough translation would be "I've been working all day long and all you want to do is sing. How many grubs have YOU brought home today," etc etc
