Bastle
As is the case for most of the Uk, the weather here has not been the best to be outside taking pics. I'm lucky that there are so many little things and details on the farm that don't require getting blown away by the wind to shoot. This is an original bastle house, it dates from the 14th century with extensions made in the 17th and 18th centuries. It's a grade II listed building and still has it's original staircases (well most of) and fireplaces. There are two adjoining houses, this being the newer and apparently they were still occupied until about 1906. If the weather continues, you might see more of the bastle this week.
