Damaged wings, pollen heavy, can't fly but CAN!

How on earth do bumblebees manage? Sorry to show yet another one but they are around so much. Yesterday I stood for half an hour trying to get a shot of one leaving its nest in a wall. I didn't know they were social but there was a constant flow in and out of bumblebees of all different sizes but I only managed to capture one and that was blurred. Not commenting, sorry, dongle run out of time for the month.
