No - not the road, but the globular cluster in the sky.
This is a bad photo of it, but the best I could manage. Lots of excuses, no handy bright stars nearby to focus on. One not far away, but would have crunched my camera on the forks if I'd tried to get it.
30s exposure, and my telescope doesn't track too well for that long. Iso 1600 - so grainy. But well, you can tell there is something there.
Its about 24,500 light years away, so we're seeing it as it was at the begining of human civilisation. Has probably 100,00 stars in it.
Pity I couldn't do it more justice!
