Clean Slate

This is the face...

... of a boy who has his picture taken too often!

You know I'm desperate when it's a bath blip! Although it was partly planned because I hadn't yet tried a shot in the bathroom (no natural light) with my new 50mm lens. I had to ramp the ISO right up but I quite liked the effect, it was certainly much better than with the flash, so there! (I know you don't care!)

What else? Last day of term. Again. Are these kids ever in school?? Apparently not. They went to the park though, which he enjoyed. They put a teeny tiny notice up in the window of the nursery saying remember we're going to the park on Friday and it's non uniform, but I work Tues, Wed, Thurs and Mr CleanSlate, who can be relied upon for a lot of things, is not the sort of parent who drops a child off in the morning whilst dawdling and doing such things as reading teeny tiny notices about apparel. When we got dressed this morning it crossed my mind that last days are often mufty*, but enquiries to an adamant 4 year old assured me otherwise. Fortunately our house is quite close to school and on a bit of a thoroughfare, so I was able to watch quite a few kids go past and confirm my suspicions. Of course, I wasn't confident enough to go without taking his uniform tucked surreptitiously underneath no.2 son's pushchair. Library book was placed on top of the secret uniform and we were good to go. Predictably, by the time we arrived at school the library book had disappeared. Which rather eclipsed my triumph in the mufty stakes.

And of course I wasn't an accompanying parent on the park trip because they won't let you bring little rascal sibling peeps, which is fine, but seems to rule me out of most parent participation and (in my view) seems to make the teachers hate me! So after grovelling about the library book and receiving the 'look' and the 'sigh' from the teachers I left and found a gaggle of other mums outside all bemoaning how scary the teachers are and grumbling about their ability to make you feel 2 inches tall as soon as you enter. At least I'm not alone then!

Anyway, rest of the day pretty good and tea's ready, so, 'Happy Friday' :-)

*I say mufty only because it's a delightful word and my very best friend from home used to have mufty days at school which I always thought I would have enjoyed more than my school's WWYWDs!
