Trompe-l'oeil Tree

This started with a double take.  

I was in a spot where I'd walked tens of times before, when this tree that I'd never noticed  leapt out at me.

Perhaps it needs to be the right time of year for it to have this effect, but given its perfect outline, and the fact that it was on a gable end, I was convinced it was a new mural.

Only on the second look, did the slightest hint of 3-D texture come out.
