Everything stops for tea
Fishguard's handsome Georgian town hall has recently been painted a fetching shade of forest green. The seats outside are the only place in the main square for folk to park their bums and watch the world go by - now that the bench outside The Royal Oak has been removed in case people sit on it to wait for the bus, and the steps around the war memorial have been chained and padlocked to prevent youngsters snacking and chatting there.
My title refers to a popular song from 1935 about the way everyone in England stops what they are doing at 4 o'clock to have a cup of tea. But this is Wales and 4 o'clock seems to be the time for a ciggy (her) and a packet of chips (him).
Appetites satisfied, they headed across the square to The Royal Oak for some real refreshment.
