Life renews --
A couple of days ago I blipped a dead tree not very far from my house and a couple of years ago the Oak tree at the bottom of our garden was felled by our new neighbours. It was on their land and had only pushed its way though the wall to be part of our garden but it did give us much needed shade in the middle of the day. We reluctantly agreed to the felling as it could have done a great deal of damage had it fallen our way and Chris cursed the leaves every autumn. I was still very sad to see it go and my other neighbour, Debbie, cried all day.
The following Spring a mass of oak seedlings came up all over the garden including the lawn where acorns had been buried by the squirrels. So we cultivated a few and gave one to our distraught neighbour and this is the one we have chosen to keep for ourselves. It is now nearly 4ft tall and as you can see is producing new growth all the time.
Quite apt for today as we have also been to a funeral; the mother of a friend and fellow chorister and a member of our church.
