New meds
I was diagnosed with neuropathy some time ago. A slow moving malady, it attacks the nerve endings primarily in the extremities. The lower legs showed the first signs - a feeling similar to the tingling, pins and needles feeling when your feet or hands awaken after having 'gone to sleep.'
A number of therapies/medications have been tried with nothing really working to any great extent. It seems to be a condition that baffles even the specialists. It one of those 'well, you have to live with it' kinds of things. That beats the alternative.
This past week my doctor prescribed a new medication to be taken before bedtime. It's claim to fame is reducing or eliminating leg cramps at night. I took one the first night and it was the next morning when the 'fun' began. The side effects are lengthy - irritability, droziness, kind of a spaced out feeling, among a number of others. Normally, the side of effects of meds are not a problem for me. Not this time!
I took half the dose (with doctor recommendation) the second night and the effects are basically the same this morning. Hence, while sitting at the computer (at least, I think I was at the computer). :-) I decided, why not try for a blip that kinda of represents how I feel right now. This is it!
Needless to say, there'll be no more of these pills for me - and they're legal to boot!
